Currently I GREATLY favor building sites with Drupal. Occasionally I have a client whose budget, or insistence demands other platforms like WordPress, or Joomla. Other times I'm so busy I must outsource Drupal sites, but do so very thoughtfully.
If you can develop with Drupal, Joomla, or WordPress and I can outsource to you, then in a nutshell it works like this.
How money will be split
If you are doing the project 100%, meaning design AND building then I offer the following split of 80/20. 80% to YOU, 20% to me. Essentially this becomes a 20% referral fee.
If I need to assist mildly in the design or development then I offer the following split of 70/30. 70% and 30% to me. 20% referral fee + 10% additional for the added effort.
If I must do all of the design, or development (one or the other) then I offer the following split of 50/50. 50% to each of us.
Billing happens in 5 hour blocks and are paid as we develop. If we are mutually working on a project together then we equally experience when the client pays, and when the client doesn't. You agree I can only pay you, when the client pays me. This is why we bill in increments, to make sure that no one is ever over extended on effort and assuming the risk of the client failing to pay.
You are in control of the deal, and speak with the client, I handle the billing
You set the hourly rate and/or the fixed quote. This allows us to remain transparent with each other on fees and time that need to be charged, and also gives us leverage in conveying to the client the value they are receiving. If you do not want to speak with the client I'll be happy to.
You must work under my banner of business "PlanetTucker.com"
You must allow my link to be placed at the bottom, i.e. "Developed by PlanetTucker.com". However, your work and efforts should not go unnoticed either. So a custom footer giving proper credits to everybody can be used. For example.
"Site developed and designed by PlanetTucker.com and YourCompanWebsite.com"
"Site produced by PlanetTucker.com in conjunction with YourCompanyWebsite.com" These are just examples, but makes the point.
Unless the client specifically requests otherwise hosting is to be with me.
My hosting is $50/month. I know it is not the cheapest however each client I host gets my personal cell phone and individual support at any hour.
Must complete a W-9 form
It goes without saying if we are doing business together we must do it right. All appropriate tax documents need to be in place.
If this sounds good then give me a call.
